GRUB disappearance after booting from a Live CD...

Hello,
I'm new to the forum, but not to Linux... Since I loved Berry Linux very much and since I've found out there are some versions that are newer than the one I tried, I decided to post here because there was something that prevented me from using Berry as much as I wanted to...
I had this issue a few years ago, when on my hard drive there were Windows XP and JAD (an OpenSuse based distro) installed. When I had installed JAD I had also installed GRUB, which allowed me to choose which operating system I would boot. One day I booted Berry Linux's live CD to test it and it worked great. Then I removed the CD and rebooted my PC... but GRUB had disappeared, and my PC booted automatically into Windows...
At that time I didn't think that was a great issue: I just replaced GRUB using the JAD installation CD... But now the situation is different: I installed another hard disk on my PC, a S-ATA one (the other one is IDE), which gets recognized by Linux as my first hard-drive... I installed Ubuntu Studio there, and had a hard time making it boot (I had to find a way to make the "original" GRUB call the GRUB I installed on the newer hard disk... It wasn't easy at all, maybe because I installed Ubuntu on a logical partition...)... Some days ago I installed Linux Mint 9 and it was quite easy to do: I added it to Ubuntu's GRUB and all went well.
Now I'd like to try the new version of Berry, but I'm afraid I will lose my GRUBs again! Which one will disappear? The Ubuntu one? Or the JAD one? I can back them up (I just need some time to remember how that is done), but it would be really annoying to put them back where and how they were...
Has anyone else lost his GRUB after booting a Berry's Live CD? Does anyone know how (and whether) it can be possible not to lose the hard disk written GRUB after booting Berry's Live CD?
Thank you very much in advance for your help...

First off, welcome to the board Futoshi! I hope that we're an informative board for you.
I can honestly say that I've booted several Berry LiveCDs and have had no loss of my GRUB. Did you just run the livecd or did you attempt a new install?
What version was it that you were trying?

Hi Jon,
thank you for the quick reply!
I just ran the Live CD without attempting any installation... Maybe I tried the english live version and the japanese live version, but never attempted to install anything...The version was 0.94...
